"Sunken Island" orchestral work and video by Behzad Habibzai released March 25, 2022

“Sunken Island” is a new orchestral track which will inspire and exhilarate. The Prague Orchestra (via Musiversal) recorded Behzad’s riveting score in 2021. This music video features flamenco guitar played by Behzad, strings (composed and arranged by Behzad), and Meghan Habibzai is featured on the voice and flute. The piece is inspired by a mystical sunken island from the lore of Tolkien’s “Lord of the Rings,” and the vocal line is in Elvish. We spent many outings during the pandemic exploring beaches in Cape Elizabeth, and took some incredible footage of a cove we discovered in 2020. Musiversal provided the video of the Prague Orchestra, which was recorded during the pandemic. Behzad’s prerecorded guitar part was playing through the musicians’ headphones while the orchestra followed the conductor. Flute, voice, mixing, and mastering were all completed at our home studio after the orchestral parts were recorded. We were so fortunate to be able to work on this project and complete this collaboration with this outstanding group from across the globe.
